Industry data
Every live funeral-related business in Singapore's national registry, placed on a map. Not a directory of who we recommend — a picture of an industry that nobody appears to have drawn before.
Counted from the registry, not estimated.
Addresses here are 6-digit postal codes, which identify a building rather than a unit — and they are ACRA registered addresses, which is not the same as where a business operates.
Check it yourself
Open any of these to see every entity at that postal code, with its UEN and the date it registered. The registry records where a business is registered. It does not record who owns it, and neither do we — what the pattern suggests is for you to judge.
"Nearly half" sounds like pairs. It is mostly a handful of very large clusters.
A shared building is weak evidence of anything. A shared unit is stronger. A shared unit, phone number and website is close to conclusive. These are the association's own 32 members, the only set with unit numbers published.
The question nobody answers
It matters most to anyone arranging a funeral years before they will need it. You are handing money to a company on the assumption that it will still be there. The registry can answer that, and nobody has asked it.
Each bar is the share of that cohort still on the register.
A sole proprietorship carries no limited liability and no separate legal existence from its owner. It is worth knowing which you are dealing with.
